Overview: Force & Load

Load cells and force sensors manufactured by tecsis LP include compression load cells in industry-standard donut and through-hole designs, low profile 'pancake' models, and robust canister configurations. We offer in-line and rod end load cells, shackle and load pins, cantilever beams, single point load cells, and universal load cells to measure both tension and compression. We also offer shaft-or flange-mount reaction torque sensors, each one fine-tuned to your specifications.

Our technical know-how and manufacturing capabilities enable tecsis LP to provide standard, modified, or completely custom products to mesh with your applications needs. We can build miniatures, submersibles, or use exotic materials like MONEL®, INCONEL® or HASTELLOY® alloys, and we offer a complete selection of electrical output, measuring range, and accuracy.

Pancake load cells are highly accurate and designed to monitor forces in tension or compression. The versatile low profile design integrates into a variety of applications.

Fatigue Rated Pancake Load Cell

Rugged and reliable, fatigue-rated pancake load cells are built to last with a lifespan up to 100 million fully reversed cycles. These tension and/or compression load cells are offered in ranges from 50 to 200,000 lbs. They feature fully-welded stainless steel construction and a versatile low profile design for easy integration. Engineered for long term multi-cycle testing applications including durability testing, material fatigue testing, component life cycle and general structural testing.

Compression Only Pancake Load Cell

Compression-only pancake load cells feature an integral load button and familiar low profile design to cover a wide range of test and measurement installations. The robust design delivers outstanding long term stability and linearity to ±0.10. These load cells can measure compression forces from 5 to 500,000 lb and are available with overload stops, vibration resistance, and internal amplification options to meet the challenges of any application.

Tension & Compression Pancake Load Cell

Pancake load cells capable of measurement in both tension and compression – often called ‘universal’ load cells – provide reliable feedback of both parameters in a single installation. Offered with industry-standard bolt patterns and a threaded through-hole design, these load cells come in a variety of sizes, ranges, and outputs. Universal pancake load cells are rugged and resistant to side loading, and can perform in the most demanding applications.

Universal Load Cell

Universal Tension/Compression Load Cell – Standard Industrial

Universal load cells are capable of measuring both tension and compression forces from 25 to 200,000 lbs. These bidirectional load cells mount with a variety of threaded connections to fit most applications. Built to survive harsh industrial environments with fully welded stainless steel construction, universal load cells from tecsis employ proven strain gage technology capable of calibration class ±0.03% FSO linearity. Universal load cells feature very low deflection and minimal sensitivity to extraneous forces, making them a workhorse in the industry. They are adaptable to many applications with internal or in-line amplification, metric threads, integral cable or a variety of connector options and dual bridge designs available heavy duty high accuracy canister unit designed to measure ranges from 100 to 200,000 lbs. ASTM E74 calibration. Tension and compression load cells are available with dual bridge design, integral cable and metric threads for easy integration into new or existing applications.

Universal Tension/Compression Load Cell - Miniature

Miniature tension and compression load cells - from 0.75" to 1.38" in diameter - are capable of outstanding performance over ranges from 50 grams up to 10,000 pound. Miniature load cells are capable of combined linearity and hysteresis of ±0.20% FSO and provide a standard mV/V output. The threaded load connection is offered in English or metric threads. These universal load cells are built to perform in demanding environments with welded stainless steel construction and an operating temperature range from -65° to +250°F. Options include overload protection, underwater cable, extended TC, and in-line amplification.

Donut and Through Hole Load Cells

A variation of the compression load cell with a 'through-hole' design for installation around bolts or shafts. Fully welded stainless steel construction and high overload capability for optimum performance. Available for ranges from 100 g up to 100,000 lbs with accuracy from 0.25% to 0.50%.

In-line and Rod End Load Cells

Rod end and in-line force measurement is critical in monitoring cranes, hoists and other lifting devices. These bidirectional load cells are available with a variety of thread options, ranges, and outputs for easy integration into new or existing systems. Available with fatigue and safety ratings.

This model features a one piece steel design which has a structural strength of up to 5 times the rated capacity. Ranges up to 100,000 lbs. and a combined linearity, hysteresis and repeatability of ±0.25% FSO

Load Pin

Force sensing load pins are a unique type of load cell designed to replace existing clevis bolts, shear pins, shear axles, pulley shafts, and other load bearing pins. We can provide a form-fit-function load pin replacement that eliminates special fixturing and allows the current clevis configuration to be transformed into a precision load monitoring system. Clevis pins and load pins from tecsis are constructed of all-welded stainless steel. They are shock and vibration resistant and are hermetically sealed to survive in the most severe operating conditions. We offer ranges from 3,000 to 200,000 pounds and accuracies to 0.03%.

Shackle Load Cell

The Model XLK shackle assembly load cell improves upon the traditional load pin arrangement used to measure tensile forces on cranes, hoists, and other lifting devices. The unique shackle body design consists of dual sensing elements built into each leg of the shackle and provides accuracy up to 0.15% over ranges from 1,000 to 20,000lbs.

Cantilever Load Cells

Bending beam, or cantilever, load cells are rugged and highly accurate and suitable for a wide variety of both static and dynamic applications. The bending beam design measures loads and forces with ±0.1% accuracy (FSO, combined) over ranges from 25 grams to 10,000 lbs. Standard output is mV/V, with in-line amplification available.

Shear Beam Load Cell

Shear Beam load cells look similar to bending beam cells, with the same low profile and small footprint. However, instead of bending the beam which contains the sensing elements, the structure of the load cell is designed to place that beam into shear. The result is a compact yet high range load cell for both static and dynamic weighing applications. Shear beam load cells deliver ±0.03% accuracy FSO (combined) over ranges up to 22,500 pounds. Variations of this design are found in precision load applications such as hopper and tank weighing, crane weighing, platform scales, truck scales, and silo weighing.

Parallelogram Load Cell

The parallelogram load cell is a unique double-cantilever beam design which provides a compact unit with ±0.02% repeatability, integral overload protection, and a high tolerance for off-center loading. The highly sensitive parallelogram configuration delivers outstanding performance in both tension and compression applications up to 500 pounds. This economical load cell is packaged for OEM process applications and is not a sealed unit.
